Gary Neville added spice to the Manchester Derby debate by suggesting that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leave the players out.
Many Manchester United fans are so hopeful that Liverpool will fail in the Premier League race that they would happily see their rival, who is in multiple cities, winning the match if it meant that the team Jurgen Klopp would be missing.
That would probably mean that City would win at Old Trafford.
This is not something that suits Neville – but he has now suggested that they make changes to the big match of April 24th.
"Sunday at Everton, it's the most winning match," said Neville at the Sky Sports Monday Night Football show.
"If they beat the city but lose to Chelsea, they are still among the top four.
"If they lose to City but beat Chelsea, they are among the top four.
"So, if they had to win against Everton on Sunday, the game to change the players a bit would be the City match."
While co-expert Jamie Carragher put his head in his hands, Neville added, "It's not them who get into the game in town, thinking that United can lose the game they have to win.
"But with four games in ten days, you can not play the same eleven players.
"My point of view would be that if they beat Everton on Sunday, they would bring two or three changes to City while trying to get the result."
United's former right-back has already stated that he could not stand City to clean up.
"I am not in favor of Liverpool's league win, but I am less inclined to have Man City win the quad," he said.
"I do not think both teams will be perfect towards the end of the season."
Neville thinks City will retain the title while Carragher thinks his former club will win its first title in 29 years.
But they both say the two teams will lose points with two draws between now and the rest of the season.
