GCB Bank has been named Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities for 2018.
According to a study conducted by the Media Analysis Center (CMA), a private and independent media and communication research agency, the GCB CSR projects have targeted and positively impacted people's lives, communities and the country.
Of the 19 banks evaluated as part of their CSR activities in 2018, GCB came first, followed by Stanbic, NIB, ADB, etc.
The research revealed that out of a total of 75 CSR activities carried out by these banks, GCB achieved the majority compared to the other 18 banks.
Specific projects that place GCB in the main CSR include: renovation of the center of orthopedics and accidents and donation of medical equipment to the Korle-Bu University Hospital, the creation of a unit dialysis at the 37th Military Hospital and donating computers to the Ghana News Agency and Benkum High School.
The rest consisted of the construction of a clbad block for the Roman Catholic Bomaa Secondary College, sponsoring 23 medical students, a donation to the Weija Leprosarium, among others.
CSR activities cover education, health care provision, culture, sports, environment, etc. in the country.
Commenting on the results of the research, Thyra Obuobi, head of the general affairs department of GCB Bank Ltd, said the bank's management, headed by Anselm Ray Sowah, was committed to improving the welfare of the bank. communities.
She said that the Bank, since its inception, has given priority to CSR activities and has invested millions of cedis in CSR.
