GCB Bank terminated the contracts of 56 former UT staff members and the deceased capital banks (ex-UT) and the capital bank for lacking the minimum qualifications required to work with the bank.

The termination of their contracts was carried out after an audit of bankrupt bank employees revealed problems with the minimal qualification of about 160 employees.

Since then, the staff concerned have received "termination of employment" letters signed by the Human Resources Manager, I. Kojo Essel Junior.

One of the letters, dated February 12, 2019, said: "We wish to inform you that, with immediate effect, your services to the Bank will no longer be necessary."

Although the letter does not state why the appointments were terminated, sources at the bank told Graphic Online that the people concerned, even though they had obtained a university degree by applying for a job, were Did not pbad either English or mathematics, and have enough to submit the official academic results to justify their employment, in accordance with GCB Bank's employment policy.
