Concerned Voters Movement (CVM) defended President Akufo-Addo for his controversial remarks against women at a press conference on gender in Canada.
In his contribution to the conference, the president said that he still did not see the dynamism of Ghanaian women.
"We do not see enough dynamism and activism on the part of those who are looking for it – I'm talking about dynamism where it counts … electing members of parliament, controlling political parties because they are the instruments by which our companies make decisions, "he said. .
The President's comments were sharply criticized by local and foreign Ghanaians who felt sidelined.

President Akufo-Addo has shown enough strength to justify his love, respect and unwavering support for the empowerment of women in Ghana. No propaganda can overshadow the remarkable achievements of President Akufo-Addo in the area of women's empowerment. Some of his accomplishments are:
1. Creating a platform for feminists, journalists and women's rights advocates in Ghana with the repeal of the Criminal Defamation Law
President Akufo-Addo, as Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Kufuor Administration, was responsible for the repeal of the law on defamation. Prior to the repeal of the Criminal Law on Defamation, the culture of silence was on the agenda under the NDC administration.

3. Free security policy; the backbone of girls' education
The culmination of President Akufo-Addo's commitment to women's development, training and empowerment was the introduction and implementation of Free SHS policy.
The Free SHS policy is based on equal opportunities and equal opportunities for more women to benefit from quality free education. The first step in empowering women is through education and nothing else.
Feminism would have been a total waste of time without education. It is also true that the more women are enlightened by education, the more they are able to unite to fight for equal rights in society.
The future of Ghanaians is promising given the number of women who benefit from Akufo-Addo's free trade policy.
4. Women ministers
It is an established fact that the government of President Akufo-Addo has more women ministers than predecessors, plus women ministers.
Three key strategic ministerial ministries, Foreign Affairs, Local Government and Rural Development, and the Attorney General and the Ministry of Justice, are all in the hands of women.
The government of Akufo-Addo has also appointed more women deputies than its predecessors. Some of the regional coordinating councils also have women ministers and deputy ministers.
5. Women appointed to the presidency
President Akufo-Addo gave the Ghanaians the first female Chief of Staff of the 4th Republic. In addition to the woman chief of staff, there is the woman minister responsible for procurement, the woman secretary of the cabinet and the woman deputy director of communications at the presidency.
6. Women entrepreneurs
President Akufo-Addo did well to give more women the opportunity to lead some of the major state agencies as CEOs and vice-CEOs.
Food and Drug Authority, Bottle Manufacturing Company, District Assembly Joint Fund, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Police Criminal Investigation Department, District Secretariat, Factory , etc., all headed by a woman.
A number of women are serving as Deputy Directors General in public agencies and institutions.
7. Ambbadadors
The government of Akufo-Addo has more female ambbadadors than the governments of John Mahama and Atta Mills.
President Akufo-Addo has appointed women ambbadadors to the following countries: France, Equatorial Guinea, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Namibia, Kenya, South Korea, etc.
8. Female Board Members
The government of President Akufo-Addo has appointed more women than other governments to the board of institutions and public bodies.
The records speak for themselves. Almost all boards of state agencies and institutions have female representation. CE, NCCE, NLA, GRA, GNPC, FDA, GSA, GPHA, Ghana Free Zone Authority, mandate, etc.
Only President Akufo-Addo consciously ensured that women were appointed to almost all agencies and institutions of state councils. This has never been done since independence.
9. Deliberate policy to employ more women in the public sector
Under President Akufo-Addo's government, more women have been hired in various state agencies and institutions, particularly in newly introduced programs such as NABCO.
More women received financial badistance to start their own business through the NEIP initiative.
