March 2021 is fast approaching and Ghana’s leading media company, Media General Group this week announced its readiness to run this year’s edition of its annual Ghana Month Campaign.

Ghana Month is a month-long campaign that takes place in March to coincide with the country’s independence celebrations. The campaign mainly aims to showcase the country’s indigenous products and services and celebrate its rich cultural heritage.

According to the management of the media conglomerate, the goal of this year’s Ghana Campaign of the Month is to promote the essence of frequenting locally made products and services as the world fights the destructive effect of the coronavirus pandemic.

Media General Group Managing Director Beatrice Agyemang highlighted the economic impact of the campaign and what the country stands to gain when Ghanaians use the products and services of local businesses.

The sponsorship of our locally produced products has a direct impact on the manufacturing sector of the Ghanaian economy and this will serve as a major engine for economic growth and prosperity. We have China and India as examples from which we can learn. Their rapid growth has been driven by their manufacturing sectors and their products have been heavily patronized by their citizens. In addition, it will create more jobs, improve the country’s physical infrastructure and businesses.“she added.

Ms. Beatrice Agyemang further stated that “Media General Group is a 100% Ghanaian company that has championed the promotion of local content over the years. It remains our commitment to promote the Ghanaian Business Support Program at all times as our contribution to national development.“.

Ghana Month will kick off on Monday March 1, 2021 with a durbar at Studio B, Adesa We, in partnership with the National Theater of Ghana. Throughout the month, a selection of radio and television shows will cover Ghanaian culture and content, including group music, Ghanaian fashion, proverbs, folklore, legends and food.

Also in the month there will be some iconic Ghanaian films and interviews with legendary Ghanaian actors and musicians on the Media General platforms; TV3, Onua TV, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM in Takoradi, Akoma FM in Kumasi and www.3news.com
