A Rockdale County Primary School will close for two days after the one hundred students and more than a dozen absent employees with a gastrointestinal virus.
Pine Street Elementary's Atlanta Journal-Constitution will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
Rockdale School spokeswoman Cindy Ball said county health officials said the Norovirus was the cause. Health experts say that norovirus causes inflammation of the stomach or intestines and can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Most improve in one to three days.
Ball says that about a hundred students and eight staffers were away on Friday. Monday and Tuesday saw a similar number of students, with 18 employees Monday and 16 Tuesday.
