The Ghana Education Service (GES) provoked the wrath of the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) following the new policy on school uniforms for junior high schools introduced by the GES this week.
According to the national president of the parents' badociation, Alexander Danso, the GES dismissed the PTA as the main actor to introduce the new policy.

"It's up to the GES to invite all the stakeholders, especially the main stakeholders who are the parents. We have not been consulted, we are not invited. The child is supported by three pillars: the government, the teacher and the parents. It is clear that one can not think alone and act alone, it is a collective effort of three stakeholders. They [GES] there is no need to relegate parents to the background because parents do not know anything about education, "he said.
He urged the government to make a conscious effort next time to include parents in these major decisions.

However, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a former Deputy Minister of Communications, said that the introduction of new school uniforms by New Patriotic Party (NPP) the administration is a misplaced priority.
