– A three-day simulation exercise on the training of kindergarten and elementary school teachers kicked off Tuesday in Accra for the implementation of the new curriculum-based standards.

It is organized by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the National Council of Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA).

The exercise, which would end on May 1, would allow stakeholders and curriculum practitioners to test the various tools and training modules prior to teacher training nationwide.

Participants would follow simulated sessions on four modules of the training program, namely curriculum framework overview and curricula, pedagogy and badessment, as well as course planning and training communities. professional learning.

Dr. Yaw Adutwum, Deputy Minister of Education, Head of General Education, advised participants to take the sessions seriously. They must ensure that the training sessions are activity-based to demonstrate the new approach to teaching and learning, as highlighted by the new standards-based curriculum. .

He also invited the participants, who are also experts in 12 groups of different subjects, to share the knowledge gained after the training.
