The Ghana Education Service has announced that the 2020 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) in High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools will be released on Sunday February 28, 2021.

In a statement released by the Service, out of a total of 533,693 registered applicants, 494,530 applicants qualified for placement.

While 343, 264 of the applicants were automatically placed in one of the institutions of their choice, 151,266 qualified applicants could not be matched to any of their choices.

The Service therefore asked these students “to self-place to choose among the available schools”.

To verify their placement, GHS students should complete the following steps:

1. Obtain an investment PIN code from an authorized provider.

2. After obtaining a PIN code, log on to www.cssps.gov.gh

3. Enter the ten-digit index number and add 20 as the year of completion. For example: 123456789020

4. Enter the details of the PIN code (serial number and PIN code)

5. Click Submit and wait for the placement to appear

6. Print out the form if you have been placed and visit the school to begin the admissions process.

However, for the 151,266 qualified applicants who could not be matched with any of the selected schools, GHS has indicated that they will be redirected to the Self-Placement Portal where they will be asked to answer certain questions.

“The Ghana Education Services Directorate wishes to assure all students, especially those who could not be matched with their choices during automatic placement, parents and the general public that all schools with positions vacancies have been uploaded to the portal so that students can choose during self-placement without a hitch, ”the statement added.
