The principals of the country's basic schools were asked to use prizes for the printing of the end-of-school exams beginning on July 15th.

As a result, all regional and district education directors must ensure that no student is considered for the exams.

"All District Education Managers are therefore required to request quotes from print service providers using the Request for Quote method, in accordance with the procedure laid out in the 2003 Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. procurement (Law 663) ", said the Director General of Ghana. Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, of the Education Department (GES), said in an interview with the Daily Graphic.

He also asked all the head of the commission to deduct an amount of 3.50 GH ¢ per student from the capitation grant.

Professor Opoku-Amankwa explained that the GES management had begun the process of acquiring equipment for the printing of examinations in elementary schools.

Purpose of the directive

The guidelines are part of interim arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful end-of-session examinations / year in elementary schools.

Professor Opoku-Amankwa, however, explained that the material might not be ready for use in the end-of-year / 2018/19 exams, as planned.

Meeting

He also explained that the management of the GES had recently addressed the issue in a meeting with the national leaders of the Conference of Directors of Education (CoDE) and the Conference of Directors of Basic Schools (CoHBS) on the challenges facing the GES and the stop gap measures put in place.

Harmonization

He added that all district education directors and district review committees should work with principals of primary schools to harmonize and develop a set of standard questions in each subject of their district with regard to simulated examinations organized by the districts.

"District education directors should ensure that officials submit to the district examination committee the questions asked by each teacher so that they are harmonized and standard questions are asked in each subject", he directed.

Professor Opoku-Amankwa also asked the district education directors to provide his office, through their regional directors, with the arrangements made before, during and after the examinations to ensure the smooth running of the examinations.
