The National People's Convention (NPC) wants the National Democratic Congress (NEC) to prepare for fierce competition in the 2020 general election.

The PNC said that it was necessary for the largest opposition party to recognize that the campaign to wrest power from the ruling party is not limited to the election of a candidate to the presidency.
