Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and his Guinean counterpart, Ibrahima Kbadory Fofana, discussed yesterday how to combine their efforts in the bauxite sector.

Both countries benefit from the largest deposits of resources in the world.

The bilateral agreement, which, according to the Vice President, would be similar to the recent partnership between Côte d 'Ivoire and Ghana on cocoa, would be to the benefit of both countries.

Dr. Bawumia revealed this information to the media after a meeting with his Guinean counterpart on the sidelines of the Export-Import Bank (EXIM) conclave which has just ended in New Delhi.

He added that Guinea has the largest resource base in the world and that Ghana has nearly a billion tonnes of resources, so both countries should control 70 to 80 percent of the world's bauxite resources.

Both countries can make mutually beneficial decisions if they work in tandem.

The integrated aluminum development company in Ghana, created by an act of Parliament, is in its creation phase and new details are to be announced in the near future, learned DAILY GUIDE.

Ghana could earn a $ 350 billion export value from refined bauxite, which the president and his vice president are keen to achieve.

Yesterday, at the end of the conclave, the Vice President joined Ibrahima Kbadory Fofana and the Deputy Prime Minister of Lesotho to pay a courtesy call on Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
