Ghana Card holders will soon be able to use their ID number as a tax identification number (TIN), the Ghana Revenue Authority has assured.
GRA Commissioner Rev. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, who recently revealed it to reporters in Accra, said that such collaboration undertaken by the GRA and the National Identification Authority (NIA) will help authorities share important data and identify eligible taxpayers in the informal sector.
According to him, “taxpayers will not spend time acquiring TINs either because they will use the Ghana Card ID number for tax purposes,” he said.
