Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori
Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori kept the perfect situation while Maritzburg United beat the Royal Eagles 2-0 on Wednesday to retain his status as Prime Minister of the Absa.
Ofori played for the duration of this final play-off for the relegation and promotion at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
The team of choice scored the first goal in the 42nd minute through midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu, who ended a team move with a low shot.
Striker Thabiso Kutumela closed the debate with a delicious freekick 17 minutes from time.
Maritzburg needed only a draw to retain his post as premier after winning all his previous home playoffs against the Eagles (1-0) and away against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) (0-2).
Ofori will have little rest since he is expected to join his Black Stars teammates who will be leaving for Dubai on Saturday for the pre-2019 Africa Cup of Nations camping.
