Former Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah painted a bleak picture of the situation in the country and accused the Akufo-Addo government of overseeing the many challenges facing the country.

According to him, the country is in critical condition and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is the party best placed to save the situation.

Addressing Citi News at the NDC Eastern Regional Office after following the vote at the party's presidential primaries, Omane Boamah said Ghanaians should vote against the new patriotic party in polls. of 2020 on the country in which he runs the country.

He added that the nuclear power plant had plunged the country into a situation of heightened insecurity, leaving many Ghanaians in fear and anxiety.

Citing the recent violent aggression perpetrated on some citizens by masked gunmen, who are considered national security agents, he said that the NPP government played a catastrophic role in managing the country's security, many been killed in strange circumstances.

He quoted Ahmed Hussein Suale, a journalist for the TigerEye PI daily, who was recently killed in Madina, among others, to support his argument.

On the economic front, Omane Boamah said that contrary to the many promises of the Akufo-Addo government to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians, the government has inflicted indescribable suffering on them.

He also accused Prime Minister Yaw Osarfo Maafo of participating in other activities instead of tackling the problem of government underperformance.

"Look at the economy. Too much trouble now … I would have liked it to be better, but Bloomberg painted our cedi in black and that's the fact on the ground. Unfortunately, the Prime Minister does not pay attention to how their lack of performance has ruined Ghana's cedi, which faces tremendous hardship for Ghanaians, "he said.

While challenging the New Patriotic Party government to complete John Mahama's high school projects, he said the government's dual-track system was unnecessary and costing parents too much.

He insisted that the current state of the country requires the election of a ruling NDC government to reverse the country's situation.

"Given the current situation of our country and going in the wrong direction, Ghana must be saved and the party that can do it is the NDC. It is therefore in the interest of Ghana and the future of the younger generation that we vote for the NPP, "said Boamah.
