The recently launched Ghana.Gov platform is expected to bring the country some GH ¢ 3 billion in revenue mobilization each year, said Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, the platform that will serve as a full digital service and revenue-generating point of call will be accessible to the general public to help them do business with government institutions and agencies.
“It is estimated that 10 to 15% of government revenue is lost through inefficiencies, theft or other accounting schemes. Ghana’s revenues are expected to increase by GH ¢ 3 billion per year through the introduction of the Ghana.gov platform ”,
The Vice President made this known during the launch of the platform on Wednesday July 14 at Jubilee House, Accra.
Dr Bawumia pointed out that the platform also aims to reduce unnecessary bureaucracies and corrupt practices associated with offering government services to the public.
Already, the Ghana.Gov platform during its pilot phase at the Ministry of Tourism has reportedly seen its revenues quadruple in some major tourist centers of the country.
The Ghana.Gov platform is a payment and revenue collection platform that provides a single point of access to all services of government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
