Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana Andras Szabo on Monday held a meeting with Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, to discuss the growing bilateral relations between the two nations.

The meeting allows the two sides to discuss the necessary measures to strengthen bilateral relations and socio-economic development interventions.

The visit was also to allow the Ambassador to personally deliver a birthday congratulatory letter and a gift sent by Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary to Ms. Botchwey.

Mr. Szijjártó said that since the reopening of the Hungarian Embassy in Accra in 2016, successful projects in the water, sanitation, health, agriculture and food sectors have showed the potential and commitment of both countries at the highest level.

Ms Botchwey said that after four successful years, Hungary had doubled the quotas to Ghana for its government scholarship program receiving 100 new students of varying degrees each year.
