Ghana is rolling out its Covid-19 vaccination plan today

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) will begin today, March 2, the vaccination of Covid-19 for certain people targeted in the fight against the pandemic.

It comes after President Akufo-Addo, his vice-doctor Mahamadu Bawumia and their spouses received their blows publicly yesterday.

The deployment is the first phase of a plan to immunize at least 20 million people.

For the government, this is a giant step towards protecting citizens and winning the fight against the pandemic.

“The vaccine will help us protect ourselves against the impact of Covid-19 on our health. It is also a major catalyst for restoring livelihoods and the national economy to the solid level to which they belong, ”said President Akufo-Addo.

Although it is not mandatory to receive the vaccine, President Akufo-Addo encouraged all Ghanaians to take the vaccine emphasizing its effectiveness.

“As president, I want to make sure the vaccine is safe.”

Some Ghanaians have already expressed concern, even after the president’s public inoculation.

Vice President Dr Mahamud Bawumia, also vaccinated, called conspiracy theories surrounding the vaccine bogus and misleading.

“We ask all Ghanaians to cooperate in this vaccination process, please don’t listen to the words no. It won’t change your DNA or have all of the effects they talk about in the plot, ”advised Dr Bawumia.

Members of the executive, legislature, judiciary, citizens over 60, people with highlighted health conditions, frontline health workers, front security officers and members of the media are featured among people who should be vaccinated.
