Former Chief of the Defense Staff, Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, criticized the two main political parties – the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) – for to have plunged the progress of the country.
According to him, Ghana is sinking and losing mbadively in all aspects of the economy because of the selfish nature of the two political parties.
Speaking at the third series of revolutionary conferences organized on 4 June on the theme "Developing a national character for good sustainable governance", Brig. General Nunoo-Mensah said the NPP and the NDC were only interested in fighting each other at the country's expense.
Nunoo-Mensah argued that neither the NPP nor the NDC have Ghana's interests at heart, which is why they continue to impede the country's progress.
"It is the sad aspect of our life; we behave as if we are fighting for ourselves and not for a country called Ghana … But it has always been like this for years … Our parents were people without education but they were honest people. " he declared.
"We end up fighting every day. NDC, NPP, when there are problems to solve. But today, we behave as if we were not Ghanaians and this country is losing because we do not work together as a people. We are still fighting each other, "Nunoo-Mensah added.
He added that "what makes me sad is that the two main parties do not care about Ghana. And I really think so.
Saddened by the country's status, the badertive personality urged the NPP and the NDC to team up and work together to move the country from underdevelopment to a developed country.
