Ghana has signed with the European Union a grant of 40 million euros to promote investment and job creation.

This was announced by the Minister of Information at a press conference Sunday.

This financing agreement is the latest program to be signed on Ghana's indicative allocation of 323 million euros under the 11th European Development Fund and the National Indicative Program.

These programs extend from 2014 to 2020.

The minister explained that: "The program focuses on the areas of business climate, public finance governance and employment, with the main objectives of promoting domestic and foreign investment in order to lead economic transformation and create jobs. "

"It will also strengthen the governance of public finances and stimulate domestic revenue mobilization and the fight against corruption," he added.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and Ghana's EU Ambbadador Diana Acconcia have signed the agreement that should promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana .

The funds will be managed by the Ghanaian government and the program is aligned with President Akufo-Addo's vision of Ghana Beyond Aid.
