Interior Minister Ambrose Dery reiterated the country's vigilance against terrorist attacks.
This follows similar unrest in Burkina Faso, which forced some of its nationals to emigrate to northern Ghana.
According to the Minister of the Interior, closer collaboration between state security agencies will prevent such terrorist attacks in Ghana.
The interior minister said the recent disruption in Ghana's northern neighbors was not only a security problem but also a warning to Ghana.
Speaking at a meeting of regional commanders of the Ghana Immigration Service, Ambrose Dery said that terrorism poses the greatest threat to the country's security, adding that the president Nana Akufo-Addo was deeply concerned about the situation.
He also called on the public, civil society and other organizations to pay attention to efforts to prevent possible terrorist attacks.
"It is becoming increasingly clear that the biggest threat we have in this sub-region is terrorism, even though it has not yet hit Ghana. Terrorism is therefore the main security concern of the President of the Republic of Ghana and all of us. Victims of terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso seek refuge in Ghana
