Ghana could face Nigeria in a friendly match before the 2019 Nations Cup tournament.
The two nations (Ghana and Nigeria) would have aligned the match to prepare for the competition in Egypt.
According to reports, the match will be held in the Nigerian city of Asaba on a date that has not yet been announced.
Both countries should also announce the imminent match.
Ghana and Nigeria played for the last time in October 2011, while they were both involved in an international friendly match at Craven Cottage in London, a match that ended on a clean sheet.
The Black Stars ended up in Group F of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau.
Nigeria, on the other hand, was drawn by the group with Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi.
The match will also give coach Kwesi Appiah the opportunity to access his players before the Nations Cup tournament.
