The report indicated that the letter-sound identification of first-grade students increased from 6.24 letter-per-minute sounds to 25.54 letters per minute, making Ghana's EGR program one of the "most important effects of world".
The findings of the report were published at a meeting organized in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on June 11, 2019.
In Ghana, the study was conducted in 100 districts across the country.
The report indicates that the program component that has had the greatest impact is adherence to prescribed lesson plans.

Meanwhile, the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana gave the government until 26 June 2019 to pay all the sums due to it for the work done.
They threatened to lock all the schools built by their members across the country, if the government does not do what is necessary.
According to the contractors, the government, through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), secured a $ 1.5 billion loan to pay the contractors for the work done, but did not pay them in full.
