The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority held today, January 28, 2019, its International Customs Day in Accra, with the aim of increasing the movement of people, goods and transport in the subregion. ECOWAS region to achieve the necessary economic growth.

Speaking at the event, Emmanuel Kofi Nti, Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, said the "SMART" concept would provide guidelines for badessing organizational performance. , improving security and adopting a data-driven risk management system.
He added that the innovative approach would further strengthen business processes through the use of new technologies to create a strong global value chain.
Mr Nti stressed the need to explore the use of other IT solutions to improve and speed up border processing.
"The Customs Division and GRA would continue to cooperate with neighboring countries to ensure the free movement of people, goods and transport services in the ECOWAS subregion, in order to contribute to economic growth, which would also create employment and reduce poverty in the country. As part of the celebration, certificates from the World Customs Organization were presented to institutions and customs officers who, last year, made a remarkable contribution to the success of customs operations.
