Germany is expected to grant Ghana an amount of 5 million euros (29,956,371.20 Ghana Cedis) for the construction of a power generation plant from waste.
YEN.com.gh understands that the unit would have a capacity of 400 kW and that construction should begin on October 1, 2019.
The project would take four years and should be completed by September 1, 2023.

According to a report published on www.dailymailgh.com, a grant agreement has been signed by both countries for the conclusion of the agreement.
German Federal Minister of Education and Research, Anja Karliszek, and Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Ghana's Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, have signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries.
The main objective of the project is the transformation of waste into energy through the use of hybrid solar photovoltaic, biogas and pyrolysis systems.
Karliszek noted that the success of the project would result in the construction of 10 more factories.

However, these would be built on a larger scale and could produce between 1 MW and 5 MW.
