play the videoNigerian professor says Ghanaian diplomas are up to Nigeria's
A Nigerian professor on sabbatical at the University of Ghana, Legon said that diplomas issued by Ghanaian universities only reach 20% of the quality of those issued by Nigerian universities.
He expressed his disappointment at Nigerians who come to Ghana to acquire more expensive degrees than those they pay in Nigeria.
"… Our people will come here and pay $ 10,000 but they will not pay 20,000 N to the University of Lagos … What an average student pays at the University of Lagos in one session for to obtain a diploma in English is 12 000 N ". Ghanaians pay 12,000 naira … if you ask Nigerians to donate 50,000 nairas each year to contribute to this university, they will be rioting, but the same Nigerians will come here and pay $ 10,000 for something 80% lower in Nigeria.
The teacher, who seems angry at the treatment inflicted on Nigerians in Ghana, said he would not pay the amount that Ghanaian universities are asking foreign students to give their child a diploma.
"I will not pay 10% of this sum for my child to graduate from a Ghanaian university. I am in the system. I know that the quality of education we receive here is 80% lower than in Nigeria. I can tell you with authority, "he added.
He added that Ghana did not have what it took to create a university.
"No Ghanaian diploma is equal to 20% of the quality of a Nigerian diploma. All of our federal universities are better than all the universities here. What makes a university is not buildings, it's not trees, it's the quality of the staff that will recycle and produce the ones they do not have, "he said.
The man who calls Augustine Nwabara made these statements in a video revealing that has become viral on social media.
The video was allegedly filmed at a secret meeting between Nigerians in Ghana.
