The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) is alarmed by the recent upsurge in killings in the country.
In a statement released Monday, the badociation said that "the cheeky nature of some of the murders and flagrant disregard for the human lives of their perpetrators are very disturbing and scary".
The Law Practitioners' Association reminded the government that the right to life is a fundamental human right guaranteed by Ghana's 1992 Constitution.
"The lives of Ghanaians and those residing in Ghana must be protected and no one should be subjected to violence in any form unless the law permits," the statement said.
The release by the badociation comes at the back of the the recent badbadination of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an undercover investigator and a key member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas' private investigation team Tiger Eye.

Also, Deputy Director of Distribution of GWCL East Accra Region, m Joseph Miigaai Jakperuk, and the director of marketing and public relations at the Port of Tema, Ms. Josephine Asante, were both killed in a style that many suspected could be contracted murders – arouse a state of fear, insecurity and anxiety.
"The Ghana Bar Association therefore requests the Minister of the Interior and the Inspector General of Police to implement, without delay, measures to ensure the safety and security of Ghanaians.
"The GBA also calls on the government to ensure that the Ghanaian police have sufficient resources to enable them to maintain public order," the lawyers appealed.

STATEMENT BY THE GHANA BAR ASSOCIATION REGARDING CURRENT MURDERS 'REMEDIES
The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has noted with deep concern and unease the recent upsurge of killings in the country. The ACS believes that the shameless nature of some of the murders and the blatant disregard of perpetrators for human life by their perpetrators are very disturbing and frightening.
The Association hereby expresses its condolences to the families and colleagues of the Chief Pastor of the Assembly of God and to the staff of the Ghana Water Company Limited, the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority and private Tiger Eye survey that have unfortunately lost their lives terribly these past two weeks.

The recent wave of killings and the resulting heightened sense of insecurity pose a threat to Ghana's democracy. Safety and security are essential elements of the rule of law and must be protected and guarded by the state.
The Ghana Bar Association therefore requests the Minister of the Interior and the Inspector General of Police to implement, without delay, measures to ensure the safety and security of Ghanaians. The Bar also calls on the security and law enforcement agencies to ensure a prompt and thorough investigation of all cases of murder, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. Authors must not escape justice.
The GBA also worries about the spectrum of lawyers appointed to defend people in such cases. It is completely unacceptable for a lawyer who gives the best representation to his client, in any case, to be harbaded in any way, because it is the foundation of the rule of law that we have accepted in as a people. life.
