President Akufo-Addo joined Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Mahama to mourn the victims of recent road accidents in the country.
Many people were reportedly killed as a result of separate road accidents that occurred on Friday, March 22, 2019 in two regions.
Both accidents claimed the lives of nearly 80 people and many others were injured to varying degrees.

The first accident occurred in the early hours of Friday, March 22, 2019 (around 2 am) in the new Bono East area, following a frontal collision between two buses.
A few hours later, on the same day, a second bloody accident was reported in Ekumfi Dunkwa, in the central region.
The President, the Vice President and former President Mahama have all addressed words of compbadion to the families and friends of the victims.
Speaking at the end-of-year WASSA of the Ghana Police Service, President Akufo-Addo consoled the families of the deceased.

"My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the deceased. May the Almighty grant their souls a peaceful rest."
Vice President Dr. Bawumia also tweeted, "My wife and I extend our sincere condolences to the families of the victims of various injuries and those who lost their lives in the tragic road accidents that occurred today. in Ghana.
"As a country, we need to put in place appropriate measures to significantly reduce the frequency of such accidents. "We wish a speedy recovery to the wounded and that the souls of the deceased rest in peace," he added.

At the same time, ex-president Mahama also complained of the victims and bereaved families.
"Our roads are becoming deadly ground and road safety remains a major challenge. All road safety actors – driver licensing authorities, driver unions, police, the road safety commission and the government – must not relax their efforts to make our roads safer,"Has he written on Facebook.
