A representative group of Ghanaians turned to social media to express their dissatisfaction with recent intermittent fluctuations and unstable electricity. with a reduction of electricity tariffs.
The energy distribution service suddenly drew the wrath of the general public while it has been around for less than a month.
GRIDCO, the national bulk electricity distribution company, took initial responsibility for meeting the challenges and promised to improve the situation.
Ghanaians in social media have expressed frustration with recent power outages in some parts of the country. Most regions of Accra, Madina, Koforidua and Cape Coast experienced intermittent power during the past two weeks.
This has raised concerns about a possible return to rationed power days, commonly known as "dumsor". After a blackout late Wednesday, most Ghanaians resorted to social media to denigrate Power Distribution Services Ghana (PDS).
The PDS is currently in charge of the electricity distribution sector in Ghana, after taking over from the Ghana Electricity Corporation (ECG) last month.
