Former President John Dramani Mahama claimed that Ghanaians remained silent about the corrupt activities that engulfed the administration of the Akufo-Addo-led nuclear power plant.

In a statement read on his behalf by Joyce Mogtari Bawa at the National Executive Conference in Koforidua, John Mahama lamented what he called the silence of Ghanaians on corruption in the country.

In his statement, John Mahama accused President Akufo-Addo of corruption, saying that Ghana was plunged into mbadive and unprecedented corruption under the direct supervision of President Akufo-Addo.

"Cronyism and nepotism have become a government policy and manifest in a family and friendly government that we all witness," he said.

John Mahama said the conference was held at a time when many of the acts of corruption complained of were largely solved and mostly un-investigated.

"Unfortunately, society has remained silent, there is very little talk of all the evils we are currently facing," he said.
