The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) deputy national communications director Yaw Preko has said Ghanaians will not be lenient with the leadership if they fail to retain power in 2024.
He said Ghanaians could not afford to endure a repeat of the hardships inflicted on them under the leadership of former President John Mahama.
He said the job freeze, suspension of teacher and nurse training allowances, Dumsor and other economic hardships are still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.
Yaw Preko told Mark Abisah on Suncity Radio in Sunyani ahead of the recent Bono Regional Delegates Conference that the nuclear power plant has been determined to build on a solid foundation since taking power in 2017.
He mentioned bold initiatives by the government led by Akuffo Addo-Bawumia like cleaning up the banking sector, free high school policy, a constituency, an ambulance and the digitization of the economy to justify why he thinks the NPP is the best. left for Ghana.
He was quick to add, however, that the party will not be complacent despite the many wins.
“While our achievements so far give us confidence that we can break Ghana’s eight-year electoral mandate, we are not going to be complacent; we will do everything in our power in 2024, ”said the deputy national communications director.
Asked about his preferred presidential candidate for 2024, Yaw Preko said delegates would decide when the time is right.
He added that President Akufo-Addo is determined to hand over power to another NPP regime, hence his unwavering commitment to work diligently to justify the trust placed in the Party by the good people of Ghana.
