"Gifted" canceled after two seasons at Fox – Drama Marvel

The talented is turning off.

The mutant drama of Fox, Marvel, was canceled after two seasons, the last of them showing distant numbers, according to our sister site Variety.

The series stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as parents who discover that their children (Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White) have mutant abilities and race, joining an underground network of overpowered outsiders. Sean Teale, Coby Bell, Jamie Chung, Blair Redford and Emma Dumont completed the distribution.

Season 2, which ended in February, attracted an average of less than 2 million viewers and just under 0.6, down 40% from its first year. Among Fox's 10 dramas, she attracted the smallest audience and beat only Friday's beginners. Innocent proved in the demo. (Worse still, its DVR playback boosts are neither here nor there.) For a three-camera sitcom, these numbers could shift to action, but The talented is dependent on effects, and it seems that season 3 would require even more powers to be exposed.

Fans still wanted to see more, however: in our recent Keep or Cut survey, 91% of TVLine readers voted in favor of maintaining The talented for a third season. (The show ranked 13th out of 29 bubble shows in a subsequent poll.)

The TVLine Renewal Dashboard has been updated to reflect this cancellation. Will you miss The talented? Click on the comments below and share your reaction to the news.
