Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was once again pressed on his plans for the future as time ran out on his contract.
Barcelona are said to be the team leading the race to sign the 30-year-old if they are unable to strike a new deal at Anfield before his contract expires at the end of the summer.
Wijnaldum has tried to downplay speculation in the past, but was once again pressed on any plans he possibly had when answering questions about international duty.
He told Dutch newspaper NOS: “They will always talk about these things, but as I have said on other occasions, I still have no news.
“They say this in the media but I have no news. When there is, I will talk about it, but there is none.
“I’m here now to talk about the matches against Turkey, Latvia and Gibraltar.”
Wijnaldum’s comments come as it is understood that the Reds are adamant that they have not been made aware of any pre-contractual agreement between the midfielder and the Spanish club, despite reports suggesting an agreement was drafted.
And Barcelona have now also distanced themselves from the reports, which came from the Catalan media, saying they have yet to come to a formal deal with the player.
But the Netherlands international is now in a position to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club, and he has made it clear he will not sign the offer Liverpool have reportedly left on the table since last summer.
Earlier this month, Wijnaldum spoke about the possibility of leaving and the difficulty in deciding his future in recent months.
