At the right time to help celebrate Valentine's Day with the one you love, Maroon 5 shared a new lyrical video for 'Girls Like You', which you can watch below.
Already acclaimed as one of the LA's most ranked ballads, "Girls Like You" – presents singer Adam Levine humming about a woman he loves. The song explores late nights, weekends and days with another very important one.
The fast-growing American rapper Cardi B also appears on the single version of the song. In an interview with Variety, Levine said he told Cardi before writing his verse, "I want you to ask something that shows your ferocity as a woman and that you say it as you wish."
The group had previously released an official video clip for the piece, which brought together a host of influential artists, actresses and activists, ranging from Jennifer Lopez to Ellen DeGeneres, to gymnast Aly Raisman, dressed in an "Always Speak Your Truth" t-shirt. Levine sings her own truth about the need of a girl who likes to have fun and brings out her wife and daughter at the end of the video for a moving family tribute.
The original version of 'Girls Like You' has been published on Maroon 5 Blues red pill, but the unique version of the track – released in May 2018 and starring Cardi B – rewarded Adam Levine and his company with their fourth US No. 1. The song spent 33 weeks in the top 10, thus linking "Shape of You "to Ed Sheeran. the longest top 10 in the chart archive. In addition, it reached number one in eleven other countries, including Canada and New Zealand. The song was nominated for best duo / pop group performance at the 61st Grammy Awards.
"Girls Like You" also tops YouTube's Summer 2018 song list and ranks third in the United States. By February 2019, the video had been viewed more than 1.8 billion times, making it the 36th most viewed video on the site at the time of writing.
