Ghana India Trade Advisory Chamber applauded the efforts of the Indian government for its intention to support Ghana with 50,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines and other PPE as part of strengthening the relationship that has existed between the two countries for decades.

The Ghana Indian Consultative Chamber of Commerce strongly commends the Government of India for its courageous and proactive steps to help Ghanaians overcome this pandemic as part of encouraging business in India, especially to have the confidence to make decisions. business in Ghana without fear of loss due to Covid 19.

After a year of disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic, with more than 80,700 Ghanaians infected with the virus and more than 580 lives lost, the road to recovery for the people of Ghana can finally begin.

The Indian government has held talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on the vaccine and the result has been communicated to the manufacturers.

India’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Sugandh Rajaram, made this known to Accra during the launch of a “Mask up a child” campaign.

As part of the campaign, trained volunteers will visit schools across the country to advocate for the wearing of masks.

The initiative was launched by the Auntie is Merkeze Organization (AIMO), a non-governmental organization, in partnership with GJA to advocate for the use of face masks in children and compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols.

As part of this initiative, the President of GITAC, Mr. Dominic Oduro-Antwi, advised the citizens of Ghana and the general public to abide by the warnings of the health authorities circulating on the various media platforms around the world to respect all the COVID 19 protocols as due.
