Vice President launched the 2019 edition of GNPC Ghana's "Men's Fastest" track and field program, calling on all stakeholders to put national interest above personal desires.

Ghana was Africa's beacon of athletics in the 1950s until the early 1990s, winning several international medals, but it struggled to make a strong impression in recent decades due to several factors.

Speaking at the launch of the world's fastest human athletics program, which is in its 6th year of existence, the Vice President recalled Ghana's glorious past in terms of life and health. Athletics and urged all stakeholders to put aside their differences and collaborate to succeed.

National anthems are played; the athletes compete in their national colors and the national medal tables are prepared to rank the countries. "Ghana's presence at the international games can only be felt if we put in place pragmatic policies and programs for the Talent Development Path that are consistent with global best practices in talent identification and development. This should be operationalized by a dedicated management team that works consistently to achieve a common goal; a goal that brings glory and honor to the country.
