The Ghana Journalists Association has announced its decision to hold national and regional executive elections by October 3, 2021.

This is contained in a press release issued by the Association on Friday September 3 and signed by the Secretary General, Mr. Kofi Yeboah.

This comes after the GJA reached an amicable settlement with Association member Caroline Boateng in the “CAROLINE BOATENG VRS LE GJA PRESIDENT & ORS” case.

“The swearing-in of the new leaders takes place within two weeks of the announcement of the election results.

Within seven days from now, on September 3, the GJA will establish its 2021 Election Oversight Committee to work with the Association’s Election Committee to conduct the elections.

The oversight committee will be made up of one representative from each of the candidates for national office positions and from each region.

Meanwhile, aspirants are urged to submit their names to the Chairman of the GJA Elections Committee, Ghana International Press Center, Accra, before the close of proceedings on Monday September 6, 2021, ”the statement said.
