Glencoe beach lovers participate in free skin cancer screenings

The Skin Cancer Foundation and Walgreens have teamed up to run free skin cancer screenings at a mobile camper on July 24 in Glencoe Beach as part of the national Destination: Healthy Skin program.

At the event, a licensed dermatologist offered private screenings for skin cancer, the entire body, while beauty consultants Walgreens taught visitors about solar beauty products and other preventive techniques .

Sara Swieca, beauty consultant at Walgreens, hoped that visitors would leave the event more aware of the dangers of skin cancer.
