Geoffrey Ocawsey, vice president of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) of Greater Accra, wants the government to make the inclusion of sanitary napkins in the prospectus mandatory for all teenage girls. age to go to school.

He made this appeal by addressing students at Dzorwulu High School on Tuesday of the 2019 Menstrual Hygiene Day in Accra.

According to a study by Globalwaters.org, Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated every 28 days in May to raise awareness and combat the taboos badociated with menstrual hygiene in order to enable women and men to girls to reach their full potential.

However, many women around the world do not have access to menstrual hygiene products or sanitary napkins because of their limited accessibility or high cost.

Speaking on the theme "It's time to act," Ocawsey said that the inclusion of the sanitary napkin was a step in the right direction.

Mrs. Irene Yankson Neequaye, director of the Dzorwulu Junior High School, congratulated the organizers of the outreach program and encouraged the girls to follow the advice given.

The boys and the prefect of the girls also shared their points of view.

The organizers, the principal, teachers and students have signed their signature on the commitment to support menstruation hygiene education in Ghana.
