GNFS organizes the first retirement ceremony for a retired officer

Accra, April 6
GNA
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) organized a
withdrawal ceremony for Dr. Albert Brown Gaisie, former Fire Chief.

Ceremony,
who was the first in the history of the service, paid tribute to the former officer
who retired from active service after 29 years of service to the
nation.

Dr. Gaisie,
is currently Dukaw Nkwanta's Nkabomhene with the title "Okoforogya"
literally means "the one who fights to conquer fire", was
enlisted in the GNFS as a cadet officer and earned the rank of
Divisional Officer Grade II in 1989.

He served in
various capabilities within the Service over the years as Regional Commander of the
Greater Accra, Ashanti and eastern regions.

He was the
Director of Rural Fire, Director of Research, Development and Monitoring,
Director of Operations and an Acting Chief Officer until his public servant is appointed
the fire chief in December 2014.

The GNFS
awarded him a quote and other gifts for his leadership qualities,
the tenacity of the objectives and the hard work for the growth of the service.

Mr. Edwin Ekow
Blankson, the Fire Chief, speaking at the event congratulated his predecessor
for his tireless efforts to grow the service.

He said this
was the first time a fire chief went out with dignity and expressed
gratitude to Dr Gaisie for all the innovations he has made during his
mandate.

Mr Henry
Quartey, Deputy Minister of the Interior, congratulated the former officer
for his achievements over the years.

He urges everyone to
seize every opportunity to show a high sense of loyalty, dedication and
dedication to working towards the achievement of the different organizational objectives
goals.

He said that it was
time for the staff of the Ghana National Fire Service, to have more cohesion
and unified front to allow them to go forward as a more united service ready to
to provide a world clbad service to the good people of Ghana.

The deputy
Minister noted that the President was determined to prove the necessary resources
GNFS logistics to enable them to fulfill your mandate in a
professional way.

"I
therefore wishes to appeal to all, especially the officers and men of Ghana
National fire services remain focused and avoid using the media
your grievances instead of using established channels, "he said.

Dr. Albert Brown
Gaisie expressed his deep gratitude for the honor given to him by
service management.

He said the
the fire department was an act of science and engineering, tactical and strategic
discipline and urged the fire men to be disciplined to enable them to carry out their
functions.

Dr. Gaisie
Firefighters are advised to demystify the culture of seeing one of them as a monster
after retirement, but instead tap into their experiences to improve
is.

He pressed the fire
officers to be aware of the attitudes that they publish in public as this could make
