Beneficiary communities include Luisa Guuta (Kantaga), Piisa Kpasaasa, Kasiesa Yimona (South Builsa / Fumbisi), Missiga, Kutanga, Sagabo Naa Gbewa Primary School and Asikiri (Bawku Municipality). The others are Ayopia, Nyariga Nayire and Adakuru (Bongo).
During a symbolic commission ceremony at Naa Gbewa Primary School, Bawku, Dr. Dominic Eduah, executive director of the GNPC Foundation, said he was delighted with the opportunity that was given to him offered to hand over to the Upper East a portion of Ghana's oil revenues under the name Ghana National Petroleum. Corporation seeks to support communities in need of basic amenities.
Regarding the main objective of his team, the executive director said that the GNPC took the bold step of setting up a fully operational entity within its foundation, which would be responsible for the CSR strategy society to empower people and affect the lives of Ghanaians. "Our 3 pillars ensure that our activities meet some of Ghanaians' basic needs – social and economic empowerment, health, education and infrastructure," he said.
Dr. Eduah said, "The GNPC Foundation will continue to play its role in helping to build the nation," and urged other organizations to take CSR seriously so that lives and communities are actually affected.
Hajia Hawa Ninchema, Director General of Bawku, read a speech on behalf of the regional minister and praised GNPC's complementary efforts to support the government's program to provide basic social amenities to all Ghanaians.
She also urged the Society to badist the municipality in the area of health and education infrastructure, with many communities still facing many challenges.
On behalf of all beneficiary communities, Mr. Osman Musah, Director of Naa Gbewa Primary School, thanked the GNPC Foundation and badured that the facility would be leveraged to ensure its longevity.
