As part of its 2019 business program, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is seeking parliamentary approval to spend US $ 65.75 million on non-petrochemical investment projects.

Of this total, the company has allocated US $ 10.75 million for the refurbishment of nine properties located throughout the country.

According to the report of the Committee on Mines and Energy on the company's work program presented at the Plenary of Parliament in Accra yesterday, the non-petrochemical projects are a headquarters located in Accra ($ 20 million) and a $ 10 million operational operational headquarters in Takoradi.

According to the report, which has yet to be adopted or rejected, the company has allocated US $ 25 million to "redevelop the laboratory and data center into a modern facility."

The report, signed by the chairman of the committee and deputy of Odotobri, Emmanuel Akwasi Gyamfi, indicates that the company has been awarded a 40-acre lot located in the Energy City Enclave. in Accra for the office complex and that an architectural dossier with the requirements for the design of the headquarters building have been completed.

Similarly, it was reported that the proposed Takoradi office was created, adding that due diligence was undertaken on the identified project sites and that work was underway to secure the project land.

"The company is committed to engaging the owners of identified properties and other stakeholders in carrying out this project," the report says.

The report stated that the laboratory and data center known as the Research and Technology Project (RAT) would provide effective and efficient information management and a repository of data for exploration, development and oil and gas production in Canada. society.

"The RAT center should also serve as a point of reference for training professionals in the use of advanced technologies in the oil industry," the report says.

As part of the property renovation, GNPC has allocated US $ 1.5 million to an "appropriate property located in the West Airport residential area, to be upgraded to a state-of-the-art clinic".

Other land properties that will benefit from the US $ 10.75 million projects include Chapel Hill residential properties, US $ 0.26 million, the Enpro rehabilitation project, US $ 0.34 million, and Redco Madina Bungalow. two and three US $ 0.20 million, Unacourt Flats, US $ 0.70 Road Rehabilitation Project: US $ 1.90 million and GNPC Training Center, US $ 0.04 million.

"The committee has thoroughly reviewed the program activities of GNPC and badociated financial requirements for fiscal year 2019 and believes that the activities described fall within the scope of the Corporation's mandate.

"The committee therefore recommends to the House to adopt its report and approve the program activities of the GNP for 2019," concluded the report.
