The low-cost airline GoAir has announced that it will begin direct flights to its third international connection to Muscat by 28 February.

The flight, which will be the 27th route of the airline, will be provided by direct flights on Kannur – Muscat – Kannur flights. GoAir plans to operate 3 direct flights per week between Kannur – Muscat – Kannur and the airline has already started bookings for this route with a one-way all-inclusive fare from 4999 Rs.

Previously, GoAir used daily connections between Phuket, Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. It also operates 4 weekly direct flights on the Mumbai-Malé route, 3 weekly flights on Delhi-Malé and 2 weekly flights on the Bengaluru-Malé route.

GoAir recently added Kannur as the 24th national destination and was the first national airline to launch services when the airport began its first operations. At the national level, GoAir currently links Kannur to Bangalore with 13 weekly flights, Chennai with 4 weekly flights and Hyderabad with 3 weekly flights.

"We are delighted to add Muscat as the third international destination. Muscat is a key market for us and fits our growth strategy and more in the Middle East, "said Jeh Wadia, chief executive of GoAir in a statement.

The airline began its international operations last October. With the removal of the controversial 5-20 rule, GoAir became eligible to fly overseas in 2016 when it took delivery of its 20th aircraft.
