Mornarh urged protesters not to rest on their oars but to continue to demand from the government
Mr. Bernard Mornah, president of the National People's Convention (PNC), affirmed that even Almighty God supported the demonstration "Ku Yen Preko".
According to him, God, in his wisdom, sent the day before the torrential rains to prepare the atmosphere for the protesters.
The president of the PNC said these remarks when he spoke briefly to the protesters at Hearts Park in Accra, where the demonstration ended.
He noted that the turnout was high, which proves that Ghanaians are tired of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.
He urged the protesters not to rest on their oars but to demand from the government what he had promised them for which they voted Akufo-Addo to power.
President Akufo-Addo, he said, has not kept his promises to the Ghanaian people, but has put large sums of money aside for the construction of a cathedral and of a new building of the parliamentary chamber.
"Did he promise a new parliamentary chamber? Did he promise to build a cathedral?
He called on President Akufo-Addo to give members of parliament the US $ 200 million earmarked for the construction of the new chamber, so that they are used wisely.
"It would be useful to prove the water and meet the health and economic needs of voters," he said.
Mr. Mornah expressed his deep gratitude to the Ghana police for his admirable professional behavior during the demonstration.
He stressed that whenever the police behave in a professional manner, citizens would have no choice but to comply with their decisions.
"But if the police become an outlet for torturing opposition, we will make their work more difficult."
"There can be no police without a respected citizen and so we urge the police to respect his professional etiquette and stop intimidating the opposition parties."
