Bishop David Oyedepo criticized Muslims for requiring the wearing of the hijab in some missionary schools in Kwara State.
Christians and Muslims disagreed with the wearing of the hijab for female students at 10 government-sponsored mission schools in Kwara state.

However, during a sermon, the founder of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, advised Muslims to leave Kwara mission schools and seek hijab-wearing schools for their children. .
According to a video of the sermon posted on Youtube, the cleric could not hide his disapproval of the hijab issue, describing the affair as an unpleasant development.

He warned that Christians might have to show the world that God is a consuming fire to stop such actions against the church.
He said:
“Leave the schools to the owner, go to your schools. Is there a fight? Stop putting your fingers in other people’s eyes, the world should be warned about the church. The church is a time bomb.
“When God turns His back on anyone or any system, that system is cursed. My advice is to leave the schools to the owners, to find your schools. Both men and women can wear the hijab there. Stop putting your fingers in other people’s eyes when they’re not blind ”
Meanwhile, the Muslims Rights Concern (MURIC) has advised the Kwara state government to rename the mission schools that are the subject of the Hijab controversy.
In a press release issued on Saturday March 20 by its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, and seen by YEN.com.gh, the group urged the state government to start the process immediately.
