• KSM requested that the funds received for the National Cathedral be injected into the health sector

• He asserted that God is not homeless, therefore, does not need a cathedral

• He used John 14: 2 to support his claim.

The debate on whether or not the Akufo-Addo government needs to build a national cathedral is still ongoing.

While some agree with the government on this initiative, others think the opposite.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, during his mid-year budget statement to parliament, called on Ghanaians to donate GH ¢ 100 monthly to help build the national cathedral.

This has received a mixed reaction from the Ghanaian population and the latest to join the conversation is the famous Ghanaian satirist, Kweku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM.

According to him, God does not need a cathedral because he is not homeless.

He said the money raised for the construction of the National Cathedral should be used to improve the health sector by filling health gaps.

Quoting a Bible verse (John 14: 2) to support his claim, he said, “Jesus said; In my father’s house there are a lot of MANORs. God is not HOMELESS. Invest in improving the health sector, not in CATHEDRALS ”.
