Mgr. Dag Heward-Mills, founder and bishop president of the group of United Denomination churches (Light House), said that Good Friday is the greatest day of Christians.

"This day is the greatest day for Christians because Christ died to pay the price of our sins to bring us closer to God," he said.
Good Friday has been marked every year as an important day in the Christian calendar, observed throughout the world by all Christians.

He called on all Christians, in particular, to reflect on the meaning of the Day, to ask for forgiveness of sins and to make amends with God.
Bishop Heward-Mills was giving the message of Good Friday at a service on the Independence Square in Accra, attended by hundreds of church members, who worshiped and prayed to God for his blessings.

He preached the meaning of Easter for the lives of believers and urged Christians not to do in vain the suffering and suffering of Jesus.

"The only way to show your gratitude to God is to give your life to Jesus and to be truly born again. If many of us who claim to be Christians are true Christians, there will be great changes in Ghana, "said Bishop Heward-Mills.

"All those who have already made a mistake before, now have the opportunity, through the death of Jesus Christ, to turn around and ask for forgiveness and God will definitely forgive them."

He said that Christians, especially those in politics, must defend Christ and live to serve others with honesty and humility.

He reminded society of the importance of the Church, which continued to intercede for nations, while politicians "came and went," claiming that only Jesus could save humanity and not any political party.

Nicknamed the "Good Friday Service", it has attracted hundreds of faithful and spectators who have filled Independence Square to the fullest.

They prayed for the welfare of the nation and asked God to protect it against accidents and calamities that could delay progress, especially in the next election year.

Bishop Heward-Mills revealed that his mission, as a servant of God, was to build 2,000 churches across Ghana to spread the Good News of Salvation to all humankind.
