Despite Steve Jobs' promise to improve the situation, AirPrint is currently only "all this and a bag of chips" for people who are lucky enough to own some specialized printers.

However, Google does not wait for Apple to put AirPrint in place. They just announced Google Cloud Print, a new service that allows you to register your network-connected printers with Google's cloud services and connect them to your Gmail account. Once you're done, you can print emails and all Gmail-readable attachments (including HTML, DOC, PDF, etc.) directly from the Gmail Mobile Safari interface.

The ability to print wirelessly from Gmail from an iOS device is a pretty cool offer, but unfortunately, it's not really compatible with Mac yet. Enabling this feature will download the latest beta version of Chrome from the Cloud Print website on the computer connected to the printer you want to use … but Windows only Users will have to wait until support from Google Cloud Print reaches the platform … the search giant itself will only engage in the near future.
