More than twelve hours after the death of nearly 70 Ghanaians in a terrible accident on the Techiman-Kintampo road in the Bono East region on Friday, President Akufo-Addo and former President Mahama, wishing to return to power , have not yet released a statement on the fatal incident.
Ghanaians are waiting for official statements or comments expressing the condolences of these two leaders, as they did to the people of Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique about Hurricane Idai.
A check on President Akufo-Addo's Facebook wall shows that his latest message was a video about WASSA's end of the year from the Ghana Armed Forces.
In a previous article, he had ironically sent messages of condolence to the people of Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique in the wake of the tropical cyclone Idai.
A check on Facebook wall of ex-president Mahama also showed that his latest message was on the same cyclone Idai.
Eyewitnesses said that shortly after the road accident Friday, one of the buses had caught fire, causing the pbadengers to fire, and that several others had been seriously injured.
Health officials said at least 28 people are currently being treated in health facilities around Kintampo.
