It was reported Wednesday that Chelsea "was already preparing for life" without Mr. Open Play Chance Creator, Lead instigator of transfers and Eden Hazard.
The Independent claimed that Philippe Coutinho was top of the blue list in terms of replacements for the Belgian.
But a little aside in this story adds: "We do not expect Liverpool to bring the Brazilian international to Anfield". This will definitely prevent him from being linked to a return to Anfield in the summer.
CASE OF DEFENSE
If only Coutinho was a right-back. As we know, Liverpool has bottled the race in the Premier League (read: the level at the top on goal difference with a game in hand and 13 left to play) because they lent their third right back at a time when others in front of him were fit and available. A club that knows exactly what it wants, is Tottenham. James Maddison is on the list of their local summer transfer goals.
According to the Daily Mirror, Leicester midfielder "has been identified as a potential substitute for Christian Eriksen", who seems to be heading for Real Madrid.
The Spurs "are long-time admirers" of Maddison, and his first impressive season in the Premier League "has again aroused their interest." So with the club "little crowded", the bloody Portuguese Eric Dier, "they hope to increase their quota in the next window of transfer".
Maddison is on a list that includes David BrooksJack Clarke of Leeds, Jarrod Bowen of Hull and right back Max Aarons of Norwich.
